How long weekends are calculated
A long weekend forms whenever a public holiday falls on a Friday or a Monday, giving a 3-day weekend. It runs longer when holidays stack โ Good Friday plus Easter Monday gives four days โ and only statutory days off count, never days that are merely customary. All of these need no annual leave.

ยง 4b suspends 8 May and 15 September for 2026 only โ they are days off again from 2027. That per-year rule is why Slovakia reads 11 in 2026 and more in other years.
