A bridge day (Brรผckentag) is a working day between a public holiday and a weekend. By taking this one day off, you connect the holiday to the weekend and get several consecutive days off using minimal annual leave.

ยง 4b suspends 8 May and 15 September for 2026 only โ they are days off again from 2027. That per-year rule is why Slovakia reads 11 in 2026 and more in other years.
